This is my calendar art! This year we did something special for calendar art because it is our last year at this school. I found it hard to plan my layout. I liked planing what colours i was going to use and how hard I was going to press to make it look 3D.

Winter mountains

Winter mountains

The snowy hard mountains are lovingly providing a home for the curious animals of the world,

Cold, wet, soggy snow strongly covering the grass floor,

Spiky brown trees standing still in the winter cold,

Beige grass blowing peacefully in the wind,

Clear blue sky carefully watching your every move,

Snowy grey rocks guarding the bugs protectively,

Green leaves swaying calmly in the winter breeze,

Winter mountains growing more trees.

“Yay!” I squealed as we see Leilani park in our rocky driveway. “ who is that?” Awatere

asked as her dad opened his black car door. “Leilani!” I yelled as I ran to hug her, we were both so excited to have this sleepover because we have been planning this for weeks and it was finally happening! As soon as her dad left we ran inside and threw her things on my fluffy pink rug in my room! She took her shoes and we strongly strided to the kitchen table where I had all the supplies to make our secret fortress under the kitchen table! 

We threw the big tiger blanket over the top of the brown wooden table, then the pillows

inside and last but not least, us and my purple, blue and yellow UE speaker. We listened to some songs and then watched some Youtube and netflix. By then it was afternoon tea time so my dad made us some chips, treats/lollies, drinks, popcorn, celery and carrots! We ate it all up! Then we went and played try not to sing along with Awatere it was amazing Leilani and I lost and Awatere won we played It’s raining tacos for Awatere, Gitup for Leilani and Lost boy for me it was quite easy until all the choruses that is when i lost! After that my dad went to the supermarket and brought us back
some stuff for that night like more popcorn and drinks! Carrying on
through the day that had somehow gone very fast after Leilani came over,
we had pizza hut for dinner and played try not to laugh. Awa was crack up! 

We did not want to go to bed straight away so we watched and movie in

Awatere’s room! We watched Big Fat Liar it was super funny and we could not stop laughing! Leilani and I were quite sleepy so we had a tiny power nap to stay up! We quickly grabbed my diary and we played truth or dare…  then after we ended the games of truth and dare we watched a couple episodes on netflix! We were getting very sleepy so we decided to go to sleep!

The next morning we woke up and the beaming sunlight brightened the room! The delicious smell of freshly made made toast burst into my senses. We carefully decided to walk up the muddy, rocky, wet hill in our matching sport tights!  We found a shimmering bright river in the distance as we walked up the muddy tracks of the hill. We got lost because we took a wrong turn on to the bikers track so we took our own trail and climbed beyond the pathway. We then found our way at the lookout and were surprised by how much people had there fire on it was like 17 degrees Celsius. We carried on running at different speeds and tripping over roots but thankfully we ended up back home! 

Sooner enough we had to drop Leilani off at her house. When we arrived I could see Paula running around waving a Tongan flag! Catherine and Inoki were on the phone doing videos of them wrestling and I thought to myself that was the most creative sleepover ever!

Term 2 creative Jandal art!

Last term our art was designing and painting jandals and following all the rules that come with them.
Our jandals had to say something about us and our culture or something unique!
my jandals are very colourful because i love colours! I added the Aquarius image because that is my zodiac sign. I also wrote the word AROHA and drew the Maori friendship necklace because my name means friendship and Harmony! I drew a paint brush painting a smiley face because I love drawing! And I drew a flower because I love how each one has there own unique sent so you can recognise them individually!

My name is Amity. I go to Awapuni School. My favorite color is purple and I love roses. I love wearing boots. I have a brother and a cat. My best friends are Sharelle, Alaynah, Kaali, Jemima, Lelani, Harata, Samara! I am very good at using a skipping rope. I enjoy online challenges and fun games. My challenge/goal is to learn all of my time tables. I am in primary but I am really looking forward to intermediate. I love dancing. I love playing with my friends at lunch time!☺️

One Tuesday afternoon at camp kaitawa, Awapuni school, Gisborne, year 6 students were on their first day at camp!

Little did we know an accident was about to occur outside the girl dorm room. “Miss Forster do you know where Sharelle is?” I asked curiously. “No, I do not know sorry” Miss Forster replied. Slowly I walked along to the wobbly wooden bench seat outside the girl dorm room. I carefully climb up onto the unsturdy seat and look through the sparkly clean window. “Leilani!” I yell out to my friend through the glass. “Yeah?” she replies as she sees me in the corner of her eye peeking through the window. “What are you doing?” she asks as I lean on the glass. “Do you know where sharelle is?” I say hoping she does. “ yes she is in the bathroom washing her face” Hearing that I jump off the stool forgetting it was very wobbly and… CRASH! The wooden seat tragically falls onto my foot and I start crying and crying it does not look bad at all! I carefully focus my eyes on something else for a millisecond and slowly focus my eyes back on my foot and… POW, it has swollen up like 2cm than it was! Mr. House, Jemima, and Leilani helped me to the dining room of camp kaitawa.

Watermelon as sweet as honey

My teeth grinding into the dark green rim

Shiny pink flesh sitting in my mouth

Transparent juice dripping off my chin

Cleanly Slicing right through the middle

Sounds like a zip zipping down a new jacket

The unique pattern is like a green zebra

The overpowering sweetness bursts my taste buds

My tasty watermelon the #1 food

Fantastic fruit for a hot sunny day

With watermelon, I shout hooray!
